The internet has provided the world with the ability to eliminate most of the impediments that keep creators from making their art available to the public and with only a modest investment of funds. I have chosen to take advantage of this technological boon.
YoSoLoSoY.com is both gallery and dumping site for my mind and soul. In this space, I inflict the products of my imagination and intellect upon the world. I started this blog to remove the excuses I use for my lack of writing. I mostly write fiction but might also venture to pen some commentaries (on whatever has captured my fancy). I might even post some bad poetry. There is also a page where I share my Instagram posts. I have also become quite addicted to running so you can expect me to share my experiences and what I have learned along the way.
There are no gatekeepers here to prevent me from sharing my work with the world. I am free to let my imagination take flight. It may soar to heights I had never thought it capable of or it could nosedive and crash into the sea like so many other failed Icaruses. But the risk is mine, and mine alone, to take. I am the only one who gets to decide if I am worth taking a chance on as a creator.
I understand that I am fortunate to have the disposable income to make such an investment. I also understand that my luck could quickly change without warning. If I ever find myself in a position where I must shut down this blog, I will at least have the satisfaction of knowing that whatever I publish on it will live for as long as the internet does. After all, on the web, nothing ever truly disappears.
A warning: I am not the most polished of individuals and so the way I express myself might not be to everyone’s liking. The same goes for the subject matter I choose to write about. I pray I never feel the need to apologize for anything I post. The day I do, is the day I need stop writing; for on that day I will no longer be true to myself or that creative spirit that inspired me (call it genius or daemon).
